The Warehouse by VHCLE
Ever since I first met the VHCLE (& crew) during the HFMSTRS Barbecue back in July, I knew that we were on the same page. A specific taste in older cars with a strong focus on 90s and early 2000s, music to match and the feeling of passion throughout. So when Marc (@vhcle) announced he was preparing for a season closer, it was clear I had to be there. Details were scarce, but some hints of the location appeared through a tasteful teaser campaign leading up to the event on September 30. The excitement was already felt on the way there, as I got to follow this group of beautiful Porsches - an early 911, a 993 (on BBS LMs) and a custom Speedster.
But honestly, the moment you entered The Warehouse - you knew immediately it was even better than expected. A huge, industrial space in the outskirts of Berlin, in the historic Siemensstadt to be exact, filled with an eclectic (but coherent at the same time) mix of cars, grouped mostly by makes. Add creative installations (using different media) and art displays and you have a complete picture of the location.
First, the Porsche corner - immaculate Carrera RS (that I've seen a few times before in Berlin) in Rubystone Red Metallic welcomed the visitors. I have a soft spot for the 996, so the C4S was a welcome sight. Just have a look.
Then, you start to discover more, a few centerpieces, such as Ulf Poschardt's 512BB or the 430 Scuderia that came later, along with a bright yellow Delta Integrale.
But that's not it - the more time you spend, the more you discover in the adjacent spaces - a hidden early 911? Here you go. Another room with a 964 Turbo? Not too bad, right?
A room dedicated to the HFMSTRS? Yes, please. A beautiful 8-series, a familiar M3 E46 from @m3gasper and the M3 E36 I couldn't get my eyes off (and I wasn't alone in my thinking). The shine was just on a different level.
And you keep on discovering, meeting cool people along the way.
Part of my PTRLSM crew also came to visit - let's hope next season our presence will be even bigger!
Shoutout to all those I got to meet or catch up with. This is what makes those kind of meets special - a relaxed, unpretentious atmosphere, a great selection of cars and a bunch of enthusiasts that are there for a reason - to share their passion.
A perfect ending to a great season. Let's hope this one will become a Berlin tradition!
